BHRT in downtown Miami, near Brickell
The Miami office offers the same physician-led care and personalized programs as our Arkansas clinics. Dr. Tancinco is board certified in internal medicine, holds a BHRT Training Academy certificate and belongs to The Menopause Association and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
The office serves Downtown Miami and Brickell, just south across the Miami River, along with Edgewater, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne and Miami Beach. Women who call usually describe some mix of night sweats, disrupted sleep, mood shifts, brain fog and a libido that’s gone quiet, often in perimenopause, when cycles first turn irregular. Our guide to mood changes explains how hormones can play a part.
BHRT versus traditional hormone therapy
Bioidentical hormones share the exact molecular structure of the hormones the ovaries produce, while some conventional therapy uses hormones with a different structure. Being bioidentical doesn’t by itself make a hormone safer or more effective. FDA-approved bioidentical products exist alongside compounded ones, and compounded preparations are not FDA-approved.
Neither approach is right for everyone. The bioidentical hormone replacement therapy page explains delivery options, and your evaluation determines whether hormone therapy fits at all.
Drawbacks of bioidentical hormones
“Bioidentical” describes a hormone’s structure, not its safety. Compounded versions haven’t been through the FDA’s review of dose consistency, purity and labeling, and they carry the same kinds of risks as other hormone therapy. Pellets are compounded too, aren’t FDA-approved for women and can’t be adjusted once placed, so they are one option among several rather than a default.
Hormone therapy risks and who shouldn’t use it
Every hormone therapy has potential benefits and risks, and they depend on your age, history and health. That’s why care starts with an evaluation and lab testing, and why treatment is monitored with follow-up visits. Dr. Tancinco discusses the trade-offs with you before anything is started, and not everyone qualifies.
Hormone therapy is generally not used, or used only with great care, by women who have had breast or endometrial cancer, blood clots, a stroke or heart attack, liver disease or vaginal bleeding that hasn’t been explained.
How long hormone therapy continues
There’s no fixed end date. Whether to continue, lower the dose or stop is revisited at follow-up visits as your age, health and symptoms change, and the decision is made with you rather than by a set timeline. If you stop, symptoms are tracked afterward so any return can be discussed.
Monitoring after you start
Follow-up visits check how symptoms are changing and watch for side effects such as breast tenderness, bloating, headaches or unexpected bleeding. Repeat labs are used where they help guide the plan, routine screening such as mammograms continues as usual, and if risks start to outweigh benefits, the plan changes.
How hormone replacement therapy in Miami works
It begins with a free 15-minute discovery call, which helps you decide whether a full evaluation makes sense. The evaluation reviews your history and symptoms and adds advanced labs. Dr. Tancinco then goes over the results with you, reading them alongside your history and symptoms. When labs are normal but symptoms continue, he looks for other causes rather than prescribing hormones.
If treatment is appropriate, he targets only the hormones that are deficient or out of balance. Most women begin in the four-month Hormonal Wellness program described on our women’s wellness programs page, with follow-up testing to confirm your response and guide adjustments.
Labs and factors we review
Your evaluation is individualized and may include:
- Estrogen and progesterone levels
- Testosterone, which matters for women too
- Full thyroid function
- Cortisol and stress response
- Metabolic health, including insulin
- Symptom history, sleep and menstrual changes
Results are read alongside your history and symptoms rather than as standalone numbers. If you start treatment, testing is repeated at follow-up so changes can be tracked over time.

HRT cost in Miami and insurance
Care is cash-based, and the clinic does not accept or bill health insurance. To begin, request a discovery call.

Care in Miami
Questions
Common questions about bhrt in miami
Who provides hormone care at the downtown Miami office?
Dr. Emmanuel Tancinco, the same physician who sees patients in Searcy and Little Rock. He is board certified in internal medicine, holds a BHRT Training Academy certificate and is a member of The Menopause Association and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He evaluates every woman considering hormone therapy and makes treatment decisions with her after reviewing her labs.
How much does hormone replacement therapy cost in Miami, and will insurance pay?
The cost depends on the program recommended after your evaluation, most often the four-month Hormonal Wellness program, and it’s explained on the free discovery call. Because the clinic is cash-based and doesn’t bill insurance, your health plan isn’t charged for visits. HSA and FSA cards are accepted where your plan allows, and CareCredit can spread the cost over time.
Why are some doctors wary of hormone therapy?
Much of the hesitation dates to large studies published in the early 2000s, which raised concerns about breast cancer, blood clots and stroke. Later analyses suggest the balance of risk and benefit depends on age, time since menopause, the type of hormone, how it’s taken and personal history. That’s why the decision at the Miami office is individual rather than a rule of thumb.
Can perimenopause symptoms be treated with BHRT?
Bioidentical hormone therapy may help relieve symptoms of both perimenopause and menopause. Perimenopause can bring irregular cycles, hot flashes, poor sleep and mood changes years before periods stop. Whether therapy is appropriate depends on your evaluation, labs and history, and sometimes sleep, stress or thyroid concerns are addressed first.
