Frequently Asked Questions
What is Longevity Medicine or Anti-Aging Medicine
Longevity and Anti-Aging Medicine is a proactive, science-based approach focused on extending healthspan, the years you live with high energy, strong function, and independence, while slowing or reversing factors that contribute to aging and chronic disease.
Rather than treating illness after it develops, this field focuses on prevention, optimization, and root-cause care.
What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine is a personalized, science-based approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and treating the root causes of illness rather than simply managing symptoms.
In Simple Terms
Functional Medicine treats the whole person, not just the diagnosis, helping you heal, thrive, and age well.
How Functional Medicine Works
Functional Medicine recognizes that the body’s systems are interconnected. Chronic conditions often develop when multiple imbalances occur at the same time, including:
• Hormonal dysfunction
• Insulin resistance and metabolic imbalance
• Chronic inflammation
• Gut and microbiome issues
• Nutrient deficiencies
• Stress, sleep, and lifestyle factors
By addressing these underlying drivers, the body is better able to heal and function optimally.
What is Bioidentical Hormone Therapy?
Bioidentical hormones are hormones that are chemically and molecularly identical to the hormones naturally produced by the human body. They are designed to restore hormonal balance in a way that closely mimics your body’s natural physiology.
They may be derived from plant sources such as yams or soy, but they are pharmaceutical grade and highly purified.
What conditions do you treat?
• Perimenopause and menopause
• Andropause (age-related testosterone decline)
• Fatigue and low energy
• Weight gain and metabolic slowdown
• Brain fog, mood changes, anxiety, or depression
• Poor sleep
• Low libido and sexual dysfunction
• PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome)
• PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)
• GI dysfunction and leaky gut symptoms
• Allergies
• Weight loss management
• Peptide therapy
Do you accept insurance?
We are a cash-based practice, which allows us to provide comprehensive, personalized integrative and functional medicine care that insurance typically does not cover.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
Insurance-based care is often limited to brief visits and symptom-focused treatment. Functional and integrative medicine requires:
• Extended consultation time
• In-depth medical and lifestyle assessments
• Advanced diagnostic testing
• Ongoing personalized support
Insurance plans generally do not cover this level of comprehensive care or specialized functional medicine testing. Our cash-based model ensures that clinical decisions are guided by what is best for you rather than insurance restrictions.
Do you offer payment options?
We offer several ways to help patients manage payment for services:
CareCredit
We accept CareCredit, a specialized health and wellness credit card designed to finance out-of-pocket healthcare expenses not covered by insurance.
CareCredit offers financing options including:
• No interest if paid in full within 6 to 24 months for purchases of $200 or more
• Longer-term financing options for larger purchases
• Promotional plans (6, 12, 18, or 24 months) with no interest if paid within the promotional period
• Extended plans (24 to 60 months) with reduced APR for larger purchases
More information is available at carecredit.com.
HSA and FSA Accounts
We accept HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) payments. Please check with your provider regarding eligibility and requirements.
Flexible Payment Plans
In some cases, credit card payments may be divided into three or more monthly payments depending on the wellness program selected.
